Brontë 0.5

5-month-old Brontë demonstrates an important life skill: foot-eating.
Brontë, (AKA Wee One) has grown by leaps & bounds this past month. The very beginning of the month we celebrated her weight gain was good without any extra formula. Around the same time she decided to stop sleeping seven or eight hours, waking up at 3:00am at least half the time. She also stopped having that big long nap consistently in the mornings, making it difficult for me to pump then. Because this added another feeding per day on average, I decided to drop one of her bottles. Then we started the process of weaning her off that last one.

Though she's been gaining weight okay, she's slowed down in the last couple of weeks. I checked her length & figured out why--she is working on that instead & has jumped up a few percentiles, making her only quite short, instead of really really short. If she keeps on this curve, the girl's barely going to pass five feet tall as an adult!

Besides hitting 14 pounds on breast milk only, Brontë is inching her way toward being mobile. She's consistently rolling from back to front now & when left on her tummy she will wiggle herself around clockwise, typically while squeaking & 'singing'. She's a really vocal little thing a lot of the day--takes after her mama. She's also found her feet in just the last week & has been sucking on them whenever they're bare.

Another noticeable skill Brontë's really improved at this month is grabbing things & getting them into her mouth. By next month she'll be good & ready to feed herself. I'm really looking forward to that. Prepare yourselves to be bombarded on all social media channels with photos of her covered in food!
