Save The Children has just put out their annual report on The State of the World's Mothers, detailing what we've accomplished in terms of reducing maternal & infant mortality, as well as how far we have yet to go. (
read the report here) Here's the infographic they've put out this year, focussing on the first day of life, statistically the most dangerous for newborns & mothers alike. I found the top & bottom ten worst countries interesting--note that neither the US or Canada ranks among the best ten.
UPDATE (9May2013): I've just received the Canadian version of the infographic (just the middle section is different). As most of my readers are Canadians & it's often difficult to come by Canadian-specific stats, I hope my American readers don't mind too much. :)
