It's a...
...girl!
Congrats to Chloe, who guessed right, then got picked by the random number generator. She'll be getting a set of cards soon & we'll donate $50 in her name to BC Women's Hospital this weekend. This baby pool was fun--thanks to everyone who played along.
We're pretty excited to be having a girl. I've always wanted a daughter & it'll be nice not to be 'outnumbered' by a house of boys. As much as I'm not a typical 'girly' gal, I am looking forward to dressing her, too. Boys' clothes are just so boring unless you spend a mint.
Now that we know the gender it'll make the process of naming a little easier. When we were making lists of potential monikers the last time around, it seemed easier to think of female names than male. This time, partly to save myself some work, partly just because I was too busy, we haven't really started the process yet.
I know it's different for everyone & some people still prefer the old-fashioned way of finding out the gender when baby is born, but I feel like it's easier for me to connect with this little fetus knowing whether it's a girl or boy. The downside will be finding room for the avalanche of hand-me-down clothing that I know is coming from her slightly older cousins: Skylar, Kira & Natalie. ;)

YAAAAAY! Amazing news! One of each is perfect. Congrats, Lisa! (and Sprout and Oliver) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! We're all pretty happy about it being a girl.
DeleteReady for the pinkification of your house??? ;) Not sure how useful our hand me downs will be for the first while at least. Chances are VERY low that you will have a teeny 5 pounder, so all the preemie clothes won't be of much use. Of course, Breanna and Pearl (N&K's CPKs) are wearing them currently.
ReplyDeleteYay! More girls! My girls would like to know what her name is already :)
Noooo! I know it'll be impossible to avoid pink clothes entirely, but I can say no to all the pink versions of toys at least, right? You know the ones--the shape sorter that normally comes in red, yellow, blue & green, but they made a pink-only version?
DeleteYay for girls! Very exciting news! And I am all for finding out the sex in advance, I did with both girls and loved knowing:)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYay, I guessed right! Congrats again, that's so exciting. I personally really wanted a boy for my first, now that I've got him, I don't really care what comes next... but a girl would definitely be fun!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a preference for what Sprout was, but I am happy to be having a daughter!
DeleteYes, I have loads of adorable clothes for you. We tried to not dress Skylar in pink but its difficult to avoid. They make pink leggo now, so barfy.

I'm very happy that you are having a girl. We can join forces in ensuring our little girls play in the dirt and kick a little butt.
