How does your favourite label measure up?

In the wake of the garment factory collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh that left hundreds of workers dead, the question of where our clothes come from has come to the fore in the media. Nearly every major brand makes their duds offshore & most of them aren't all that forthcoming with information about factory conditions, workers' wages & environmental track record. However, thanks to a tweet I saw in my feed the other day, I've got a resource to share with you:

GoodGuide has information on all kinds of products, including clothing. Their Apparel Guide gives 182 clothing companies a ranking from 0-10 on working conditions and how well they minimize environmental impacts. Look up the clothes you're wearing & use the information to push for change if you see a low rating!

& to make your life even easier, GoodGuide has a mobile app for iPhone & Android. You can use it to scan barcodes & check the ratings of products as you're shopping. Download it on iTunes or Google Play.

If you downloaded GoodGuide's app, please let me know what you think in the comments below!
