Also tried a few upper body exercises, as my shoulders really feel on the edge of an injury from all the toddler-hoisting. I could only do 10 push-ups from the knees. :P I was able to do 15 or 20 a year ago, from the toes. I did a set of 10 other thingies that I don't know the name of. Arms behind me with hands on the arm of the couch, my body in a seated position in the air (feet on the floor), bending & straightening my arms, lifting some of my body weight. Anyone know what those are called?
UPDATE: got another 10 minutes of walking in after dinner. :)
Weekly total: 140 minutes.

those sound like tricep dips. And if you are looking for an awesome and inspiring, feminist, work out blog, check out http://www.stumptuous.com/workout-for-the-time-poor
ReplyDeleteThat article I linked too is extra special, and she links to some body weight exercises. She's like a potty mouthed, weight lifting, michael pollen.
YES! Tricep dips!
DeleteGood tips in that article--thanks. I like the fact that she backs it up with relevant stats & studies. I really need to schedule some resistance training in. I think I do okay with light cardio--just not having a car or even a U-pass anymore means I walk or bike a few hours a week--but the only weight training I get is lifting Sprout.
