Did a little walking yesterday, but not what I'd call exercise. :P If I don't get out in the morning, lunch time hits & then it's nap time for Sprout, so I'm stuck here for three hours. When he wakes up it's dinner time & then too late for an outing. I really have to work on getting going in the morning.
Today was somewhat better. Walked to Mount Pleasant Community Centre so Sprout could go to the drop-in toddler 'dim', then the library. En route home, I picked up a lot of milk & beer, which must have added at least 20 pounds more to push up the hill in the stroller. :) All together I'd say I got in 25 minutes of walking.
No noticeable impact of the exercise today, other than getting soggy from all this rain--my shoes & my raincoat both leaked.

What is this Exercise Challenge, you ask? Read my post on Day One for details & how you can get involved too.
Have you considered doing some body weight exercises while sprout is asleep? There are some great strength building routines you could get in with a 20-30 minute spot every other day. For me, I find strengthening exercises have the most immediate impact on increasing my energy as well.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I was just thinking yesterday that I need to get back into doing some upper body strength training. My shoulders are feeling a bit weak. :P A dangerous thing for a person who needs to lift a nearing-30-pounds kid dozens of times a day...
DeleteI generally just want to sit & read my RSS feed, watch reality TV shows online (heh...) or write while Sprout's asleep. But considering how long he naps, I really have no excuse. If I were organized, I could get in a workout, a shower & a couple of hours of writing before he wakes up.
