Routines for Writing

I started doing Wordless Wednesdays because I noticed Susan Main doing them (never gave you credit for that, sorry Susan! Better late than never?) on her blog. I want to post more frequently, maybe getting to the point of blogging daily eventually & having a routine laid out helps me do that. At the moment, it's Linnaeus X.x posts (in case you hadn't noticed, I post what's new with him, titling it for how many months & weeks old he is.) & Wordless Wednesday. Recently I read a great post on Harriet Fancott's blog, See Theo Run, about what she's learned this past month. She got the idea from Amber Strocel, who also happens to be my editor for VancouverMom. Small world, hey? Anyway, I think I'll add the monthly round-ups to my repertoire too.

Do you post regularly on certain days? Or do you just write when the muse strikes you? Have you got any routines for writing that you want to share?

  1. I have been blogging daily for almost 2 years. In that time I have missed about 4 days - three days I just forgot and one day Wordpress ate my post after it posted it to FB.

I generally blog at the same time every day - as I eat dinner. Being off, occasionally I will blog earlier in the day. It is really only when my routine is interrupted that I may forget.

I have really noticed how my writing has changed over the time I have had my blog. I am a much more engaging writer now than I was in 2007. My writing suffered from academia where uninspired, technical essay writing was required. I love being able to tap into my humour and sarcasm when I blog.

I read your blog all the time. I am bad at commenting!
